Sadly, our loving mother and a pillar of our family, Madge Darlene Huls, passed away peacefully on November 6th, 2024 at the age of 85. Known for her good nature, kind heart, and love of God, she leaves behind an incredible legacy of overwhelming kindness, warmth, and, above all, love that will forever touch hearts and lives of all who knew her.
She selflessly gave both her time and resources to ensure that no one she ever knew would be without food or love for close to half a century to literally hundreds of people. Born in Longview, Washington on August 11, 1939 to parents Jim and Elma Herald, Darlene was a devout Christian who took Immense pleasure in reading, baking, and volunteering for VFW Women's Auxiliary. Her passions brought light to the world and love to the community. While she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the love and kindness she shared with everyone she ever met.
She was preceded in passing by sons Steven James and Keith Allen Huls and daughter Vera May Boena. She is survived by son Leroy Robert Huls and daughter Betty Jo Bond, as well as 12 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing held on November 26th and 27th from 10 until 4 at Hubbard Funeral Home in Castle Rock and a memorial service at Toutle Community Bible Church on November 30th at 12 with a potluck afterwards.
