Jeffery Lynn ‘Jeff’ Whalen, 61, of Chehalis, Wash., passed away at his residence Thursday, October 8, 2020.
Jeff was born July 31, 1959, in Custer, Wash., to Cecil and Helen (Peek) Whalen. His first job was at a dairy in Chehalis, which was located in the area of Airport Way. Later, he worked as a laborer, doing a bit of everything from laying floors to installing hot tubs. When he was younger, he traveled the United States, living in Arkansas, Wyoming, Kansas, and Colorado, to name a few states, before re-settling in Lewis County with his longtime companion, Peggy. He was introduced to Peggy by her daughter through mutual friends while living in Wyoming, and became friends with her and her husband, who passed away several years ago following an automobile accident. Jeff loved to fish, and enjoyed going out to eat with Peggy at Denny’s. He was a sweet man with a heart of gold, who’d give the shirt off of his back to a stranger in need.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jeff Whalen; and adult son, Chad Whalen.
He is survived by his partner, Peggy Hanson; daughter, Kristina Morris; siblings, Jerry, Greg, Dick, David, and Diane; and several grandchildren.
At this time, no services have been planned.
