In Loving Memory of Grady Norris Petty.
Grady Norris Petty, was the third son of seven children born to Warner and Ethel Petty of Quail, Texas. He finished high school at Spade, Texas then joined the Army for a WW2 tour of duty in the China-Burma-India Theater.
After Grady was discharged from the Army in 1946, he went back to farming in Texas for a time, then moved to California to work as a construction power Lineman for P.G. & E. In 1950, he went back to Texas and went to work for Texas Power Company in Amarillo, Texas for 3 ½ years. In 1954, he was hired by SMUD Power Company in Sacramento, California as a Lineman and Troubleman. He worked for SMUD for 31+ years retiring in Galt, California in 1986. He moved to Toledo, Washington in 1989 making it his permanent home.
Grady, was involved with his community and neighbors. He was known for his conservative Christian values, kindness, and generosity to others needing a helping hand. He was very much the gentleman, even in his final days.
On April 1, 2023, Grady entered into his eternal rest in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 99 years old.
He is survived by two sisters; Juanell Newman of Clovis, New Mexico and Pat Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Deborah Petty of Toledo, Washington; his daughter, Carol Jane Petty of Sacramento, California; six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Many will remember him and miss his presence in their lives.
