Alvin E Dunn

October 14, 1942 — December 14, 2021

Well, Gawly! Alvin Evan Dunn, age 79 went to be with Jesus on December 14th, 2021. He and his wife, Paula made their home in Castle Rock Washington. Al was on his way to help a friend when he passed, and he was known for his willingness to help anyone or offer advice and a listening ear. Al never met a stranger and was happiest with a Pepsi in one hand a tool in the other.
A man of many talents and the owner of even more cars, his occupations included dredging, real estate, auto mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, building contractor, handyman, logging, electrician, welder, truck driver, commercial fisherman…to name a few. Some of his hobbies included traveling (watch out if you said GO when Al was around) camping with his kids and grandkids, reading, flying, scuba diving, playing games with friends (He loved card games) and anything to do with Seahawks!
His family invites you to celebrate this incredible man’s life on December 22nd, 2021, at 11am at the Castle Rock Nazarene Church 456 Pioneer Avenue, NE. Castle Rock Washington 98611, where we can share stories of his escapades and adventures and sense of humor. Christmas wreaths or related as flowers would be appreciated.
As an Air Force Veteran, there will be a graveside military honors ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery on January 25th, 2022, at 11:30am for family only. 11800 S.E. Mt. Scott Blvd., Happy Valley, Oregon 97086
Alvin was involved in helping feed the homeless and needy by distributing food with Turn the Tables Foundation. We encourage you to donate in his name and continue his legacy of selfless giving at www.turnthetablesfoundations.com
Born in Seattle, Washington to Delmar L. Dunn and Leona Annetta Dunn Ferguson (Young) Al was the youngest of 5 siblings. His brothers were Ralph Hasson, Carl Dunn, and Kenneth Dunn, who precede him in death. Can you imagine that reunion in heaven? His sister, Beverly Haffner (Dunn) survives them.
He leaves behind Paula L. Dunn (Veerkamp) his wife of 60 years. Their children were Kathrynn L Dunn-Saari (Ted) of Chehalis, WA., Kevin P. Dunn (Giedre) of Colfax, CA., Michael W. Dunn (Sheri) of Aliso Viejo, Ca., and Karyn M. Wejemark (Aaron) of Lacey, WA. He has eight grandkids. Zachariah Saari, Kaisa Moore, Josephine Dunn, Robin Dunn, Nicholas Dunn, Jack Dunn, Jenna House and Shestin Fernandez.
